Pastor B.L. Garrett, Jr. Biography

 

Reverend Bobbie L. Garrett, Jr. is a native of Sandusky, Ohio and he is a product of the Sandusky City Schools.  Reverend Garrett currently serves as the senior pastor of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church of Sandusky, Ohio.

Reverend Garrett was reared in a Christian home and at the age of nine, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Second Baptist Church of Sandusky, Ohio.  After graduating from the high school, Reverend Garrett enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served on active duty for twelve years. 

Reverend Garrett completed Basic Military Training School in San Antonio, TX and later completed Information Management School in Biloxi, MS where he graduated with honors.  He was then reassigned to the Pentagon in Washington, DC where he received several professional awards.

Reverend Garrett, while assigned to the Pentagon, reunited with the Meridian Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC.  It was at the Meridian Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Calvin E. Cage, Sr. that Reverend Garrett grew and gained his most enriching experience with Christ.  He was later called to the ministry and licensed to preach the Word of God.  Reverend Garrett also had the wonderful opportunity of ministering to the people of God and serving the Church in a number of ministries.  Under the direction of Pastor Cage, Reverend Garrett assisted in the formation of the Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church where its focus was “Restoring Broken Lives”.  Because of his faithfulness, Reverend Garrett was elevated to the position of Assistant Pastor.

Reverend Garrett is a trained man of God.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Networking from Redding University and an Applied Arts Degree in Administration from the Community College of the Air Force. 

In 2012, God rewarded Reverend Garrett faithfulness, and he was called to pastor the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Sandusky, Ohio.  Since Reverend Garrett’s installation, the Church has thrived numerically, economically, socially, but most of all spiritually.  Under his direction, new ministries have begun and old ministries have been fortified.  He has streamlined and restructured the weekly Worship Service, Bible Study and Prayer Service.  He has instituted a Noonday Bible Study and established a Discipleship Program.  He strategically targeted the children in the community by instituting the “Next Generation” Ministry (Youth-focused); revitalized the Children and Youth Ministry and started a Teen Ministry.  He started a Friday night “People Excited for Worship” (PEW) Service.  Reverend Garrett is forward thinking; he moved the Church into the 21st Century technology; started the Stone of Hope social services outreach ministry, and he organized the renovation of the sanctuary.

Reverend Garrett is a God sent leader, and a man after God’s own heart.  He has a love for the Church and the people of God.  Reverend Garrett’s goal is to serve this present age through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word exposing sin; enlisting souls; and entrusting the Savior for the sake of building God’s Kingdom.
